U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has informed his advisors of his desire to visit China after taking office. This could occur in the coming months.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Wall Street Journal and Reuters.
According to one of the WSJ sources, Trump expressed interest in making the trip to China within the first 100 days of his presidency.
The publication also noted that Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have discussed the possibility of a personal meeting through their representatives. One option being considered is an invitation for the Chinese leader to visit the U.S.
It is important to note that the inauguration of the newly elected U.S. president will take place on Monday, January 20. Recently, Chinese media reported that the event will be attended on behalf of China by Vice President Han Zheng, as Beijing is prepared to strengthen cooperation with Washington.
Additionally, we mentioned that due to the cold weather, Trump's inauguration will be held indoors rather than outside as is customary. This change will result in some modifications— the decision will prevent the "overwhelming majority" of guests from attending in person.
