The recently formed 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade is stationed at the Pokrovsk front direction. The brigade is gradually acquiring certain combat capabilities.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a statement from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

The Commander-in-Chief noted that he inspected the Pokrovsk front direction, where the enemy is concentrating its main efforts and conducting active offensive operations. During his visits to the command posts, Syrskyi listened to the brigade commanders regarding the specifics of combat operations, problematic issues, and took all necessary measures to address them.

Syrskyi added that he paid special attention to the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

"It is worth noting that the brigade is gradually acquiring certain combat capabilities. All negative aspects and difficulties that arose during its deployment in Ukraine have been analyzed, and conclusions have been drawn that will be taken into account in the further training of personnel," the Commander-in-Chief reported.

Syrskyi also expressed gratitude to international partners, particularly France, which was the first country to respond to the request to create a mechanized brigade and fulfilled all its commitments regarding the training and equipping of the aforementioned military unit.

Scandal with the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade

Recall that a scandal involving the soldiers of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna Kyivska erupted online earlier. Reports indicated inadequate formation and support for the newly created 155th Brigade, as well as mass desertions and SOCH, particularly during training in France.

Against the backdrop of these reports, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered the strengthening of the 155th Brigade. The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mikhail Drapatyi took personal control of the situation. He noted that he is looking for new commanders, and despite the inadequate formation, the brigade has occupied a section of the front.

This week, it became known about the detention of the former commander of the 155th Brigade, Dmytro Ryumshin. The investigation notes that during his command, the voluntary abandonment of the unit by soldiers became widespread. In particular, 56 servicemen of the brigade voluntarily left training grounds in France.
