This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the "Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center".

In the Carpathians on January 5th, it will be predominantly dry. Night and daytime temperatures will be between -6° and -13° Celsius.

Should Ukrainians Expect Frost on Epiphany?

Some believe that the day of Epiphany may bring the strongest frosts. However, against the backdrop of climate change and the transition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) to the new Julian calendar, the so-called "Epiphany frosts" may not occur.

At the same time, meteorologist Natalia Ptukha from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center commented to RBK-Ukraine that "in the near future there will be a bit of frost, but not of high intensity and not as prolonged as might have been expected and desired."

Let us remind you that since September 1, 2023, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) has transitioned to the new Julian ecclesiastical calendar. Because of this, all "fixed-date" holidays have shifted 13 days earlier. In particular, Epiphany was previously celebrated on January 19, and now it is on January 6. In 2025, the holiday will fall on a Monday.
