Part of the barriers near the Crimean Bridge, constructed by the occupiers, has become inoperative. The cause was a powerful storm in the Black Sea.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, referencing the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, during a telethon.
"As a result of the storms, a significant number have become inoperative this year and are not performing their functions. This information still needs to be verified. However, based on the available data, we can conclude that nature always intervenes," he stated.
According to the spokesperson, the Kerch Strait is quite dynamic, and the occupiers attempted to take this into account during the construction of the structures. Therefore, the Russians built parallel structures, protective systems, and so-called "fences" near the Crimean Bridge.
"The storm season is not over yet; such harsh weather at sea will continue for at least another 2-3 months," Pletenchuk added.
He noted that such changes in the occupiers' barrier system are "entirely expected."
The Crimean Bridge, built by the Russians, is one of the main logistical arteries for the occupiers to support their troops in southern Ukraine.
In October 2022, the SBU conducted an unprecedented operation attacking the Crimean Bridge. Since then, the Russians have been trying to secure the bridge, particularly by constructing protective structures and strengthening air defense.
In Ukraine, it has been repeatedly stated that the bridge is a legitimate target for defenders. Similar statements have been made by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Head of the GUR Kyrylo Budanov, and Head of the SBU Vasyl Maliuk.
