The conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was shorter in duration compared to his talk with Putin. This is due to a specific technical aspect.
This was shared by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the U.S. Department of State.
"And the president (Trump, - ed.) spoke with Zelensky yesterday (the interview with Rubio took place on February 13, - ed.). He spoke with him for about 45 minutes," he explained in the interview.
According to Rubio, "people say, look how much shorter this was" (compared to the conversation between Trump and Putin, - ed.).
"The difference is that with Putin you have these translators, and it just takes an eternity back and forth. With Zelensky, he speaks English fluently, and they can converse and communicate more directly, and that happens much faster," noted the U.S. Secretary of State.
On February 12, U.S. President Donald Trump held talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. They discussed, among other things, Russia's war against Ukraine.
On the same day, but a little later, Trump spoke with Zelensky. They discussed, in particular, the conversation with Scott Bessent and the preparation of a new agreement on security and economic and resource cooperation.
It is noteworthy that it was reported that Trump spent nearly an hour and a half on the conversation with Putin, while his talk with Zelensky lasted around an hour.
