Recently, Russian occupiers have been intensifying their shelling of Suja in the Kursk region. Nearby villages are also under attack.

This was stated by press officer of the temporary military command in the territory of the Russian Federation, Alexey Dmitrashkovsky, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the telethon broadcast.

"The civilian population is mostly staying at home or in a shelter because the enemy has significantly increased the shelling of the settlement of Suja and the surrounding villages. Many villages simply no longer exist," Dmitrashkovsky said.

According to him, since the beginning of the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, 36 residents of the city have died as a result of Russian shelling. About 100 others have sustained moderate to severe injuries.

The press officer specified that the Russians are using S-300 missile systems for the shelling of Suja. The enemy is also extensively utilizing FPV drones.

He clarified that, according to intelligence, the Russians have concentrated in the region:

  • 12,000 FPV drones;
  • about 800 "Lancets";
  • 2,500 Mavic drones.

It is worth noting that a few days ago, the head of the Center for Public Diplomacy, Andrey Kovalenko, reported that Ukrainian defenders attacked the Russians in several directions in the Kursk region. This came as a surprise to the enemy.

Ukrainian defenders have already made certain progress in the region.

Moreover, today, January 7, it became known that Ukrainian defenders attacked the command post of the 810th Brigade of the Russian Marine Corps.
