The enemy continues to deploy specialized munitions against the Defense Forces, loaded with hazardous chemical substances. Over the past month alone, there have been more than 400 attacks.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Alongside conventional means of firepower, the enemy is using munitions filled with dangerous chemical agents, such as K-51 and RG-VO, which are crowd control measures and are prohibited for use as weapons of war," the General Staff noted.

Additionally, according to military sources, there is a significant proportion of munitions containing hazardous chemical compounds of unidentified types. At the same time, it is currently known that:

  • in December 2024, units of radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded 434 instances of such munitions being used.

  • overall, since February 2023, there have been 5389 recorded instances of the use of hazardous chemical substances.

"Since the onset of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, units of radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance have been directly documenting instances of hazardous chemical substance use on the battlefield," the General Staff added.

Meanwhile, according to the staff, since February 2023, the use of hazardous chemical substances by Russians has taken on a systematic nature.

"The Russian Federation is grossly violating the rules of warfare, disregarding the norms and obligations of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling, and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction," the military emphasized.

As a reminder, we have repeatedly reported that Russians are using chemical weapons to strike Ukrainian military positions. In particular, in February of last year, the Russians carried out a chemical attack in the Tavriya direction.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that Russian invaders have employed chemical munitions against Ukrainian forces in southern Ukraine.

According to the representative of the operational grouping of troops "Tavria," Dmitry Likhovoy, only on September 4, the occupiers conducted 13 drops of toxic substances along the contact line in Zaporizhzhia.
