Russians launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine: here’s what we know about the aftermath.

On the night of February 22 to 23, Russian occupiers launched drones at Ukraine, attacking various regions. As a result of drone debris falling and ballistic missile launches, damage, fires, and injuries have been reported in different cities.

RBK-Ukraine has compiled the key information available as of now.

The cities targeted by the Russians include: Kyiv, Odesa region, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih.

What is known about the attack on Kyiv

In Kyiv, the falling debris from enemy drones affected the Pechersk, Holosiivskyi, and Darnytsia districts.

Specifically, in the Pechersk district, remnants of the drone fell in an open area, damaging windows in an uninhabited building nearby. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

In the Holosiivskyi district, a fire was reported in a private house following the drone debris fall. There were no reports of injuries.

Meanwhile, in the Darnytsia district, a fire also broke out where the drone debris fell. At least three private homes and vehicles were damaged.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitalii Klitschko, mentioned that drone debris was also found in the territory of the National Botanical Garden named after N. Hryshko.

Rocket attack on Kryvyi Rih

In the evening of February 22, the Russians carried out a rocket attack on the city. An infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of the attack. One man has been reported dead in the hospital, along with two injured women aged 30 and 31.

Shortly before the attack, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of a threat from ballistic weaponry. Apparently, this was indeed the case in Kryvyi Rih.

Russian attack on the Odesa region

The enemy attacked the Odesa region with strike drones, resulting in a fire in a private home. Three people were injured. All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences.

Shelled Zaporizhzhia

According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, a fire broke out in the private sector as a result of the shelling of Zaporizhzhia. Windows were damaged in several high-rise buildings. A 53-year-old woman was injured and is currently receiving medical assistance.

Threat of Russian attacks on Ukraine

It is worth noting that recently, on February 20, air raid alarms were declared in most regions of Ukraine in the morning. This was due to the threat of cruise missile use, and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detected fast-moving enemy targets (missiles) in Ukraine's airspace. However, alarms were later canceled in Ukraine.
