On January 4, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the village of Antonovka, near Kherson. People were injured.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegram from the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Roman Mrochko.
"Around 8:00 AM, Russian occupiers attacked Antonovka using a drone. A 71-year-old man sustained a blast injury and shrapnel wounds," he stated.
According to Mrochko, he is currently hospitalized, and medical staff assess the victim's condition as moderate.
Later, the number of injured in Antonovka began to increase, reaching four victims.
In addition to the 71-year-old man:
Antonovka is a village in Ukraine, located within the Kherson urban community of the Kherson district in the Kherson region. The population is 12,790 people. Until 2020, it served as the administrative center of the Antonovsky village council in the Dnipro district of Kherson, which included the village of Molodyozhne.
Antonovka is situated in the right-bank part of the region and was liberated from occupation along with Kherson in the fall of 2022. The left-bank part of the region remains occupied by the Russian Federation.
Despite being brought under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers continuously shell Antonovka. For instance, at the end of October, Russian forces attacked an ambulance crew in Antonovka in the Kherson region. The doctors were providing assistance to victims of a previous drone attack at that time.
On October 1, the Russians shelled a market in downtown Kherson, resulting in the deaths of seven people.
