The situation in Pokrovsk remains stable, with no enemy presence in the area. At the same time, Russian occupiers aim to encircle the city but are far from achieving this goal.
This was stated by the representative of the OSUV "Khortytsia," Viktor Trehubov, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a telethon broadcast.
"In Pokrovsk, the situation within the city is not evolving; it is stable - there is no enemy. We have already had to counter misinformation circulating online that supposedly the enemy has entered the city. That is simply not true," he stated.
According to the military official, the enemy is attempting to secure territory south of Pokrovsk to advance southwest of the locality and cut off logistical routes.
"What is happening in the localities south of Pokrovsk includes places like Yelizavetovka, Luch, Lisovka, and Zelenoe. There are ongoing battles and constant attempts by the enemy to establish a foothold in this area, create a base, and advance. They are not aiming directly at Pokrovsk itself, but rather southwest of Pokrovsk to sever logistical routes. Primarily, the roads leading from Dnipropetrovsk region. The Russians are still far from this objective, but they are making efforts," Trehubov reported.
He emphasized that the focus of the Ukrainians is on preventing the enemy from achieving this.
As a reminder, as of 4:00 PM today, January 18, there have been 89 combat clashes reported at the front. The highest number of battles has been recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.
