On the night of March 2, Russia launched 79 drones at Ukraine. Air defense forces operated in 13 regions.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
The drone launches originated from four locations in Russia: Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsk-Akhtarsk. The attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The air defense forces destroyed 63 attack drones and drone decoys. An additional 16 enemy drone decoys were lost locally (without negative consequences).
Air defense operations took place in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.
According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy's attack affected the Kharkiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
It is known that air defense was active in Kyiv during the night, and local residents reported hearing explosions.
Additionally, on the evening of March 1, the Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia, causing a fire in a residential building and injuring a woman.
