At night, Russia launched two missiles and over 20 drones: here's how the air defense system performed.

On the night of December 27, the enemy launched two "Iskander-M" missiles and over 20 drones. The air defense (AD) managed to destroy 13 of the drones.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

According to the Air Forces, the enemy targeted Ukraine with:

• two ballistic "Iskander-M" missiles from the Voronezh and Kursk regions;
• 24 strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Shahed type and drones of other types from the directions of Oryol, Bryansk, and Millerovo.

To repel the air assault, the following were involved:

• anti-aircraft missile troops;
• electronic warfare units;
• mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9 AM, the destruction of 13 drones has been confirmed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions. Additionally, 11 drones were lost location-wise without negative consequences.

Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation (RF) has been regularly striking the territory of Ukraine, utilizing a wide array of weaponry. Among the primary types of weaponry employed are artillery systems, various missiles, aerial strike assets, and drones.

In particular, over the past month, nighttime attacks on Ukraine have intensified. For instance, on the night of December 26, Russia deployed 31 strike drones. At that time, the air defense shot down 20 of them and another 11 were lost location-wise.
