On the morning of January 15, Russia once again launched a large-scale bombardment of Ukraine. The first explosions were heard in Kharkiv, and currently, air raid alerts are active across the country.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing its own correspondent and Ukrainian Air Force.
A series of explosions in Kharkiv was audible starting around 06:08. At that time, military sources reported that cruise missiles had been detected in the region. Additionally, ballistic missiles were launched from the Belgorod region. The missile detection process is ongoing.
It is noteworthy that just a few hours before the alerts and the first explosions, Russia deployed groups of strategic bombers Tu-95MS from the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation.
Since the beginning of today's alerts, enemy missiles have already been detected in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions.
"Air defense is operational near Cherkasy and in the vicinity of the city," reports “Suspilne.”
Just a few minutes prior, the Ukrainian Air Force urged residents of the city to seek shelter as a Russian cruise missile was heading towards the settlement.
Poland has deployed combat aircraft in response to Russia's strikes on targets, particularly in western Ukraine.
"In accordance with existing procedures, the Operational Command of the RSZ has activated all available forces and resources at its disposal, with additional pairs of fighters being scrambled, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance assets placed on high alert," stated the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
"Cruise missiles are in our airspace! Stay in shelters," informed the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk OVA, Svitlana Onyshchuk.
"The nearest cruise missiles are being detected in the airspace of the Khmelnytskyi region. They are moving west. You still have time to move to a safe location," wrote the head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, on Telegram.
Media reports indicate that explosions have occurred in the Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia regions.
Emergency power outages have been implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions, as reported by DTEK.
Explosions have been reported in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Air defense is operational in the Lviv region.
Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko announced that due to the Russian attack, the transmission system operator is implementing preventive power outages across Ukraine.
"No missile strikes in Ivano-Frankivsk! Air defense is operational in the region," reported city mayor Ruslan Marcinkiv.
Ukrenergo confirmed that due to the massive Russian attack, emergency power outages have been applied in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad regions.
DTEK is also reporting on the Donetsk region.
Starting from 06:13, the alarm signal spread across the entire territory of Ukraine.
It is worth recalling that during the night, the enemy continued to attack Ukraine with drones. Consequently, an alarm was issued in Kyiv and several regions. However, the alert signal was later lifted.
Additionally, yesterday Russia increased the number of "Kalibr" missile carriers in the Black Sea. There were 4 of them, with a total possible salvo of 28 missiles. However, it should also be noted that as of this morning, only 1 "Kalibr" carrier has been detected in the sea, with a total salvo of up to 4 missiles.
