Эстония предупреждает, что Россия может организовать провокации во время отключения от своей энергетической системы.

Estonia is preparing to disconnect from the Russian energy system. In light of this, the country is bracing for provocations from the Russian Federation.

This was stated by Estonia's Minister of the Interior, Lauri Läänemets, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing ERR.

Estonia has completed its preparations for desynchronizing its energy system from Russia; however, Läänemets noted that potential provocations from the Russian Federation remain a key challenge.

The Minister of the Interior stated that the switch has been meticulously prepared, ensuring that the process will be seamless for citizens. At the same time, he warned that the country's energy supply will be more vulnerable during this period.

"Our neighbor may attempt to take advantage of the situation. We must be ready for possible hybrid threats - from cyberattacks to physical interference, as well as the spread of disinformation. There may even be attempts to damage the energy infrastructure," Läänemets emphasized.

He also highlighted that the police and security services of Estonia are taking measures to maintain order and prevent incidents during the desynchronization process.

The Minister stressed that synchronization with the European energy system is an important step for Estonia, as well as for Latvia and Lithuania, as it eliminates significant dependence and the potential for influence from the Russian Federation.

It is worth noting that earlier, Lithuania strengthened the protection of the electricity transmission line with Poland ahead of its disconnection from the energy system shared with Russia and Belarus.
