The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, has reportedly garnered over 50% of the votes based on exit polls. This puts him in a position to win in the first round.

This information comes from RBK-Ukraine citing N1.

Today, Croatia held the first round of presidential elections. According to exit polls, the current president and SDP candidate Zoran Milanović is leading in the first round with 51.48 percent of the votes.

Meanwhile, it is known that the candidate from the HDZ, Dragan Primorac, is receiving 19.29 percent of the votes.

It is worth noting that Milanović has been repeatedly labeled as a pro-Russian politician, although he denies this.

Previously, the President of Croatia opposed the admission of Finland and Sweden into NATO, as well as the training of Ukrainian troops in Croatia as part of EU efforts. Milanović has also criticized Western countries for supplying tanks and other weapons to Ukraine, stating that these actions will only prolong the war.

Although the presidential role in Croatia is primarily ceremonial, Milanović formally serves as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. His anti-Western remarks have drawn criticism from the country's government, which has supported Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression.

It should be noted that in October of this year, Milanović did not grant permission for the Croatian army to participate in NATO activities aimed at supporting security and training for Ukraine.
