On the morning of January 15, Russia is launching a massive attack on Ukraine with cruise missiles and aerial bombs. In response, Poland has raised its combat aviation readiness.
This information comes from RBK-Ukraine, citing the page of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Poland on the social network X.
"Attention, due to the attack by the Russian Federation, which is striking targets located, in particular, in western Ukraine, military aviation operations in our airspace have commenced," the statement reads.
It was clarified that in accordance with the existing procedures, the Operational Command has mobilized all available forces and resources, deploying pairs of fighters into the air. Additionally, ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have been placed on the highest alert.
The command further stated that these measures are aimed at ensuring safety in the areas bordering the threatened regions.
"The Operational Command of the RSZO is monitoring the current situation, and the subordinate forces and resources are fully prepared for immediate response," the military added.
Recall that last night the Russian Federation attempted to attack Ukraine with drones. As a result, an air alert was declared in several regions, including Kyiv, due to this threat.
Later, the threat subsided, but around three in the morning, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that groups of Tu-95MS strategic bombers had taken off from the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region. Following this, around six in the morning, alerts began to spread across Ukraine.
