Poland aims to complete the reinforcement of its border with Belarus by mid-2025.

Poland plans to complete the construction and reinforcement of the wall on its border with Belarus by mid-2025. This initiative aims to halt illegal migration into the country.

This was announced by Poland's Deputy Minister of Migration, Maciej Duszczyk, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Financial Times.

According to Duszczyk, once the work along the 400-kilometer border with Belarus is finished, it will bring border security close to 100%.

"This artificially created migration route will be closed next summer, I hope and believe in this," said Duszczyk.

However, he noted that Warsaw must be prepared for another attempt by the Lukashenko regime to "escalate conflict" and sabotage Poland's enhanced border infrastructure.

He explained that additional measures along the 400-kilometer border also include:

• night vision cameras,
• thermal imaging devices,
• a new patrol road,
• reinforcement of the five-meter steel fence erected in 2022.

It is worth noting that tensions between Poland and Belarus have increased since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Warsaw accuses Minsk of deliberately controlling migrant flows to exert pressure on the EU—an allegation that Belarus denies.

In this context, Poland announced the strengthening of its border with Belarus. Additionally, Warsaw has intensified border checks and conducted military exercises.

Recall that earlier Poland and the Baltic States proposed to the EU to construct a 700-kilometer defense line along the border with Russia and Belarus.
