The weather will improve, but there's a catch. Meteorologists have released their forecast for the weekend in Ukraine.

No snow or rain is anticipated in Ukraine over the weekend of February 8-9. However, frost will not be absent during these days.

Saturday, February 8

On Saturday, February 8, the weather in Ukraine will be dry, except for Crimea, where snow is likely. However, even during the day, most regions will experience frost. Nighttime temperatures are expected to drop as low as -9 degrees. Such frosty conditions at night are likely:

• in Rivne and Zhytomyr regions;
• in Sumy and Vinnytsia regions.

During the day, the "minus" temperatures will persist in most areas. Specifically, even in Crimea, daytime temperatures will range from -1 to +1. However, there will be regions where a noticeable "plus" is expected, namely:

• up to +2 degrees in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions;
• up to +6 degrees in Transcarpathia.

In Kyiv on February 8, no precipitation is expected, with nighttime temperatures between -6 and -8, and daytime temperatures from -1 to -3 degrees.

Sunday, February 9

On Sunday, February 9, nighttime frost will intensify. In the Chernivtsi region, temperatures are expected to drop as low as -10 degrees. -9 degrees will be recorded in the Prykarpattia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. Additionally, most regions will maintain temperatures around -8 degrees.

During the day, the lowest temperatures will be in the Kharkiv region, reaching up to -4 degrees. The warmest conditions will be in Transcarpathia, with temperatures ranging from +5 to +7 degrees. Furthermore:

• up to +2 degrees during the day in Volyn, Chernivtsi, and Odesa regions;
• up to +3 degrees during the day in Prykarpattia;
• up to +4 degrees in Lviv region.

In Kyiv on February 9, there will be no rain or snow, with nighttime temperatures between -6 and -8, and daytime temperatures from -1 to +1 degrees.

Why is no precipitation expected in Ukraine over the weekend?

As forecasters previously noted, significant precipitation is indeed not expected in Ukraine in the near future. This is due to the fact that the influence of the anticyclone in Ukraine is causing an increase in atmospheric pressure.

At the same time, given this situation, people may experience headaches due to the high atmospheric pressure.

Moreover, next week, the weather is not expected to change significantly, with an anticyclone, no precipitation, frosty nights, and cool days anticipated.
