"Light Up the City": A New Year vintage car rally took place in Dnipro (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

A New Year’s car rally featuring used vehicles took place in Dnipro, reports a correspondent from "Vідомо".

On December 28, a themed rally of retro cars named "Light Up the City" kicked off at the "Museum of Time Machines" in Dnipro. The event was dedicated to supporting city electricians who are working on restoring street lighting after missile strikes. The rally included vehicles adorned with garlands and other transports that are over 35 years old.

Drivers of the retro cars decorated their vehicles in a festive style, using garlands, tinsel, and ornaments, along with creative elements such as "reindeer horns" and a red nose.

To enhance the holiday atmosphere, a bus was decorated with a Christmas tree inside and festive ornaments outside. A nearly real Santa was behind the wheel.

One of the most interesting cars, a 1982 "Zhiguli," was adorned with tinsel and toys, with a tree placed on the roof.

The car's owner, Maksym Braslavets, noted: "We decorated the car together with my girlfriend, and it didn’t take much time. But the emotions from the spectators are wonderful! We saw the announcement on social media and decided to join in. Events like this add vibrant moments to the everyday routine."

Another participant brought his restored "Volga 2401," which is 40 years old, to the rally. The owner shared that the car was in poor condition, but after extensive restoration, it now looks fantastic.

"It has been my long-time dream to own a 'Volga.' I regularly attend events organized by the "Museum of Time Machines." Here, it’s not just a car rally; it’s a true celebration for vintage car enthusiasts," emphasized Maksym Taus.
