On the morning of January 15, Russian occupiers damaged power lines near Kherson. As a result, several villages were left without electricity.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, on Telegram.

He noted that the power lines were damaged due to nighttime enemy shelling. As of 9:30, part of the Kherson community was without power.

The villages near Kherson - Zelenivka, Naddnipryanske, Molodizhne, and Inzhenerne - were completely without electricity.

"Specialists are assessing the extent of the damage and will begin emergency restoration work when the security situation allows. We will provide further updates on the restoration of the settlements," Mrochko added.

It is worth noting that in the morning, emergency power outages were implemented in several regions of Ukraine due to the enemy's missile attack. As of 9:40, emergency restrictions were lifted in most regions.

Shelling of Kherson

In recent weeks, the Russian army has intensified shelling in Kherson and the surrounding area, as well as assaults along the southern front lines. Local authorities had previously reported an increase in the activity of sabotage groups.

Due to the escalation, public transport in the villages near Kherson has been suspended.

Recall that on Sunday, January 12, the Russians damaged power lines in the Dnipro district of Kherson. Part of the city was left without electricity and heating as a result of the shelling.
