The Pension Fund of Ukraine has raised pension payments for Ukrainians in the past month.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has completed financing pensions for February 2025. A total of 62.2 billion hryvnias has been allocated for pension payments.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the press service of PFU.

This amount is 0.5 billion hryvnias more than in January, when the allocated amount for pension payments was 61.7 billion hryvnias.

According to PFU, the pension payments for February were distributed as follows:

• through JSC "Ukrpost" - 8.8 billion hryvnias,
• through authorized banks - 53.4 billion hryvnias.

Additionally, the PFU allocated 4.9 billion hryvnias from the state budget for housing subsidies and benefits.

Pensions in Ukraine

As of January 2025, the total number of pensioners in Ukraine was 10 million 343.6 thousand people. This is 4.5 thousand fewer than in December of the previous year (10 million 348.1 thousand).

According to PFU, the highest number of pensioners was in the Dnipropetrovsk region - 874.0 thousand people. In addition, there are 747.0 thousand pensioners in Kyiv, 707.4 thousand in Kharkiv region, 668.8 thousand in Lviv region, and 616.1 thousand in Donetsk region.

Of the total, 8 million 382.4 thousand pensioners receive their pensions through current accounts in banks. The remaining 1 million 961.2 thousand pensioners receive payments through "Ukrpost".

It is worth noting that the PFU allocated 736.4 billion hryvnias for pension payments in 2024. This is 9.6% (64.4 billion hryvnias) more than in 2023.

As of January 1, 2025, the average pension was 5,789 hryvnias. It is expected that after the indexation on March 1, the average projected increase in pensions will be 556 hryvnias, raising the average pension in Ukraine to 6,345 hryvnias.
