The Pope has accepted the invitation to visit Ukraine; however, the date of this visit remains unknown. This was shared by the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), in an interview with Radio Liberty.
According to him, the Pope has received the invitation for such a visit, and the UGCC has assurances that it has been accepted. However, there are no plans for the Pope to visit Ukraine in the near future, even in 2025.
"There is currently no (scheduled time for the visit), but Pope Francis sometimes enjoys making surprises. He could announce a visit just a month before he decides to come to Ukraine. Therefore, we enter this new year with hope. Hope that a just peace will eventually reign in Ukraine," said the head of the UGCC.
