The UN has halted certain support programs in Ukraine, according to Guterres.

The United States has reduced its assistance to the United Nations. This has resulted in the suspension of humanitarian aid in certain regions of Ukraine.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a statement from UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Guterres noted that the significant cuts in US aid, implemented by President Donald Trump, contradict Washington's interests.

"The reduction of America's humanitarian role and influence will be at odds with American interests worldwide. I can only hope that these decisions can be reversed based on a more thorough analysis," he stated.

He mentioned that the cuts have led to the suspension of humanitarian aid in certain regions of Ukraine.

"In Ukraine, the implementation of cash-based programs, which are a key component of humanitarian aid intended for 1 million people, has been suspended in critical regions," he emphasized.

US Cuts Spending

It is worth noting that previously, the Trump administration accused the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which was involved in foreign assistance, of overspending.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio pointed out that foreign aid is not charity and should promote US interests. The USAID office in Ukraine was also instructed to halt programs.

Yesterday, the Trump administration announced that it is terminating over 90% of foreign aid from the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
