Around 2,000 soldiers and 29 artillery systems: the General Staff reported on Russia's losses over the past day.
In the past 24 hours, from December 22 to 23, the Russian army has lost 1,990 soldiers, 55 drones, and 67 units of automotive equipment in the war against Ukraine.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to December 23, 2024, are estimated to be:
- personnel - approximately 776,090 (+1,990) eliminated;
- tanks - 9,615 (+6) units;
- armored fighting vehicles - 19,885 (+15) units;
- artillery systems - 21,313 (+29) units;
- MLRS - 1,256 units;
- air defense systems - 1,030 units;
- airplanes - 369 units;
- helicopters - 329 units;
- operational-tactical UAVs - 20,790 (+55) units;
- cruise missiles - 2,948 (+1) units;
- ships/boats - 28 units;
- submarines - 1 unit;
- automotive equipment and fuel tankers - 32,039 (+67) units;
- special equipment - 3,664 (+2) units.
Situation on the Front and Russian Shelling
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Defense Forces have regained lost positions in one of the areas of the Zaporizhzhia region. However, the enemy is effectively attacking in four areas along the front.
On the evening of December 22, Russian military forces once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type kamikaze drones. All enemy targets from the large-scale shelling were only destroyed around 6:00 AM.
In the past 24 hours, more than 200 combat clashes occurred on the front, during which the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated over 400 invaders.
