Today, December 25, Russia struck the DTEK thermal power plants. The equipment at the plants has been severely damaged.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing DTEK.

"Today, the Russian Federation carried out yet another massive terrorist attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The DTEK thermal power plants were targeted," the statement reads.

As a result of the intense assault, the TPP equipment was significantly damaged. Power engineers note that they promptly began addressing the aftermath and restoring the equipment's functionality after the shelling ceased.

This was the 13th large-scale attack on the Ukrainian energy sector and the 10th such attack on the company's energy facilities this year.

Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, DTEK thermal power plants have been shelled over 200 times.

Shelling of Ukraine's Energy Sector

On the night of December 25, Russian forces launched a new massive strike on Ukraine. The occupiers fired various types of missiles overnight.

The government reported that the Russians heavily attacked Ukraine's energy sector. Due to the shelling, Ukraine implemented power outage schedules. DTEK has published schedules for Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa regions.
