In the past day, there were nearly 90 battles on the front, with over a third occurring in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff.

As of 16:00 on January 18, there have been 89 combat clashes at the front since the beginning of the day. The highest number of battles was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.

Enemy Shelling

Today, the communities of the following settlements suffered from Russian artillery and mortar fire:

• Tymofiyivka in the Kharkiv region;
• Zheleznyy Most in the Chernihiv region;
• Popivka, Sosnivka, and Prohres in the Sumy region.

Situation at the Fronts

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the occupiers made 32 attempts to push our defenders from their positions near the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Yelizavetivka, Luch, Lisovka, Zeleny, Shevchenko, Uspenivka, Slavyanka, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarnoye. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have repelled 28 enemy attacks, with four clashes still ongoing.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked our troops' positions five times near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, the adversary launched assaults on our units' positions four times in the areas of Petropavlivka, Lozova, and Pyschane. Hlushkivka was hit by a KAB.

In the Lyman direction, the invading army conducted nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Pervomaiske, Kopanky, Novoihorivka, Novosadove, Novolyubivka, and Zarechne. Four clashes are still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked four times in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky. In Markove, the enemy dropped two KABs.

In the Toretsk direction, there were 16 enemy attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian soldiers have already repelled 10 of them, with fighting continuing.

In the Novopavlivsk direction, the invaders attacked 12 times near Bolshaya Novosilka. Fighting is ongoing. The enemy bombed Otradne, Razliv, Veseloye, and Temyrivka with KABs.

In the Orikhiv direction, the occupying forces made one assault on our troops' positions near Novodanilivka.

Once, without success, the enemy attempted to storm our defenders' positions in the Dniprovsk direction.

The operation in the Kursk region continues. Ukrainian soldiers have repelled five attacks from the invading forces today, and three clashes are still ongoing. The enemy has launched 224 artillery strikes, including four from multiple rocket launchers.

In the Seversk and Huliaipole directions, the adversary has not conducted any active actions since the start of the day.

We remind that in the 24 hours from January 17 to 18, the Russian army lost 1,340 military personnel at the front. The total combat losses of the enemy in personnel since February 24, 2022, amount to 817,160 people.

Additionally, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 13 armored vehicles, 21 artillery systems, and 69 units of automotive equipment in the last 24 hours.
