A long-eared owl has been spotted in Dnipropetrovsk region (PHOTO).

Recently, a long-eared owl was spotted and photographed in the Dnipropetrovsk region, reports "Vydomo" citing "My Dnipro".

It is noted that this species of owl is of medium size (smaller than a gray crow).

Long-eared owls have a rather mottled plumage, predominantly featuring reddish tones.

This bird is a predator and is nocturnal.

In Ukraine, long-eared owls nest throughout the territory.

This species of owl is protected by the Bern Convention and the CITES Convention.
