The unique collection of motorcycle and bicycle technology by Alexander Frolov, recognized by experts as the largest in Ukraine, offers an exciting journey through time. The heart of this collection is the oldest motorcycle in the country – a rare specimen from 1893, which stands as a true artifact of motorcycle history. This was reported by "Vidomo," referencing "Our Reporter".

The impressive arsenal of around 60 exhibits has been gathered over decades by Alexander Frolov, a motorcycle enthusiast and experienced restorer, who is a long-time friend of the Dnipro Museum of "Time Machines."

Before retiring, Alexander worked as a bus driver on route No. 11 (on the legendary "Ikarus" with a accordion), and he developed a love for motorcycles in his childhood. His passion evolved into a grand project that began in 2011. Today, the fruits of his many years of labor represent not just a collection, but a true open-air museum located on his own property in Romankov, in a specially built pavilion, where Alexander gladly welcomes visitors.

Central to the exhibition is an impressive collection of BMW motorcycles, which provides a nearly complete picture of the model range from the German company, a leader in European motorcycle manufacturing during the 1930s and 1940s. The shine of black lacquer on the perfectly restored machines is simply mesmerizing. Among them stands out the sporty model R12, which achieved an astonishing speed for its time of 279.5 km/h, confirming the pursuit of technical excellence of that era.

Equally significant is the R71 model, produced in only 3,700 units. This model holds particular historical importance: according to Alexander, it marked the beginning of Soviet motorcycle manufacturing. In the USSR, a virtually exact copy of the R71 was created, replicating all components except for the carburetor. Interestingly, the Germans ceased production of the R71 after that.

However, the collection is not limited to just peaceful models. Among the exhibits, one can find motorcycles that participated in combat during World War II – German, Soviet, and American. Alexander Frolov shared insights about the complex fate of many motorcycles from that era, many of which passed through numerous hands and trials before finding their home in collections like his. This discussion encompasses not only technical challenges but also the intricate history of the movement of these machines after the war, including trophy motorcycles and the complicated accounting system for equipment during wartime and the post-war period.

In addition to motorcycles, the collection also includes a number of rare bicycles representing various eras and styles. From antique "high wheel" bicycles with enormous front wheels to elegant racing models from the 20th century. The condition of many specimens astonishes with the degree of their preservation.
