The Ministry of Development will allocate funds from the state budget to settle the debts of the Dnipro-Western Donbass water utility.

A struggling enterprise in Dnipropetrovsk region will receive the necessary funds to ensure its full operation.
Минразвития выделит средства из госбюджета для погашения долгов водоканала "Днепр – Западный Донбасс".

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Mykola Lukashuk, announced that the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development has supported the proposal from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council to allocate a subsidy from the state budget to settle the debts of the enterprise "Dnipro-Zakhidny Donbas," as reported by "Vidomo."

This water utility supplies water to Pavlohrad, Ternivka, Shakhtarske, and others, but in recent years, it has accumulated significant debts, a topic that has been raised even during the regional council sessions.

According to Lukashuk, from the end of 2023 to the end of 2024, the debt has increased by nearly 200 million UAH. The state-owned enterprise, which is managed by the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, has over 600 million UAH in creditor debts.

Earlier, Lukashuk mentioned in a comment to "Vidomo":

"This is precisely why a temporary deputy commission was established to determine the budgetary burden. We reached out to the central executive authorities to transfer the water utility 'Dnipro – Zakhidny Donbas' into the communal ownership of territorial communities. This way, we could modernize it using regional budget funds and avoid situations like those at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when people went without water for three to five days. However, to do this, the debts need to be settled," Lukashuk emphasized.
