On Wednesday, a Cybertruck exploded near the Trump Las Vegas hotel, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. This incident may be linked to terrorism.
This was stated by billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Bloomberg.
According to Musk, the explosion of the Cybertruck was likely an act of terror. Furthermore, the event could be related to an incident in New Orleans, where a vehicle drove into a crowd celebrating New Year's Eve, resulting in at least 15 deaths.
The connection between the events is indicated by the rental of the vehicles involved. Both cars were rented from Turo, a car-sharing platform that allows vehicle owners to rent out their cars. Musk shared the following on his social media platform X.
"It seems this was an act of terrorism. Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomber in New Orleans were rented from Turo. They may be connected in some way," he stated.
Recall that the Las Vegas Police Department reported that on Wednesday, the Cybertruck approached the glass entrance doors of the Trump hotel, after which smoke began billowing from the vehicle, followed by an explosion. Authorities confirmed that the driver was killed, and seven others sustained minor injuries.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, Musk mentioned that the Tesla team confirmed the explosion was caused by "a very large firework or bomb being transported" in the rented Cybertruck.
The incident in Las Vegas occurred while the FBI and police were investigating the pickup truck's assault on a crowd in New Orleans, which took place on Wednesday morning, resulting in at least 15 fatalities and over 30 injuries.
The FBI stated that authorities discovered an ISIS flag and that officials are working to determine potential connections between the suspect, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, and terrorist groups. Homemade explosives were also found.
