On Saturday, January 25, Elon Musk participated in the launch of the election campaign for the far-right party AfD (Alternative for Germany) by speaking at its congress. According to him, the AfD represents the best hope for Germany.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Die Welt.

The well-known billionaire appeared via video link. In his address, Musk reaffirmed his support for the "Alternative for Germany" and also mentioned Julius Caesar.

"German culture spans thousands of years. Even the Roman general Julius Caesar was struck by the will of the Germanic tribes to fight," he stated.

Musk asserted that the leader of the AfD, Alice Weidel, would be very beneficial for Germany as Chancellor. Furthermore, the businessman accused the current German government of being disinterested in the health and well-being of the German people, aggressively suppressing freedom of thought, which is why the AfD must fight.

"It is very important for people in Germany to be proud of being German," Musk added to the applause of around 4,500 supporters of the "Alternative for Germany."

Federal Elections in Germany

It is worth noting that the elections for the Bundestag will take place next month, on February 23. The intensive phase of the election campaign has now begun. According to polls, the "Christian Democratic Union" (CDU) continues to lead significantly ahead of the AfD, while the "Social Democratic Party of Germany" (SPD), led by Christian Lindner - the party from which Olaf Scholz is again running for Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany - is facing concerns about passing into parliament.

Additionally, we remind you that on December 20, 2024, billionaire Elon Musk supported the AfD. In January, he held a live broadcast on social media platform X with the party leader.

Earlier, RBK-Ukraine reported that the German analytical center CeMAS tracked hundreds of messages over the past month on the German platform in social media X, showcasing typical examples of the Russian disinformation campaign Doppelgaenger against the West, which has previously been condemned by the authorities of Germany, the USA, and France. Thus, the center concluded that the Russian disinformation campaign aims to support the far-right "Alternative for Germany", undermine the main German parties, and raise concerns about the economy ahead of the elections.
