Authorities have made a significant decision regarding medication prices: details have emerged.
Цены на лекарства снизятся: в парламенте озвучили сроки и размеры уменьшения.

Starting in March, medications in Ukraine will become cheaper. The prices of one hundred of the most popular drugs will decrease by 30%, while all other medications will see a price drop of 20%. This was announced by the head of the "Servant of the People" party, people's deputy Elena Shulyak, as reported by "Vedomo".

"The prices of medications are extremely high. This is putting it mildly. Unfortunately, some pharmacy chains have inflated the prices of the most popular medications by as much as 70-110%, which is absolutely unacceptable. That is why President Volodymyr Zelensky intervened in the situation and tasked us with finding solutions to support the financial stability of Ukrainian families and give them more opportunities to take care of their health. First and foremost, he managed to ensure that starting in March, domestic manufacturers and the largest pharmacy chains are obligated to reduce medication prices by 20-30%. These changes will definitely be significant and positive for millions of Ukrainians," says Elena Shulyak.

At the same time, the deputy adds that at the President's request, maximum markups on medications will also be limited: no more than 35% for over-the-counter drugs and a regressive scale for prescription medications. Suppliers will be allowed to add no more than 8% to the wholesale price depending on the cost of the drug.

"Every Ukrainian, whether they live in a city, a remote village, or a frontline region, should be assured that they can take care of their health. That is why, despite all the challenges of wartime, healthcare is a priority for President Zelensky, the government, the parliament, and the "Servant of the People" party. And this is reflected not just in words, but in very concrete decisions, such as the planned reduction in medication prices or the existing delivery of drugs to remote corners of Ukraine, where there are either no pharmacies at all or only a limited assortment of medications," notes Elena Shulyak.

The delivery of medications, as reminded by the "Servant of the People" party, began last year. Currently, this is done in two ways: through mobile pharmacies and via "Ukrposhta".

Mobile pharmacies are already covering 14 regions. Vehicles operate on special routes, which can be learned about from one’s family doctor or local authorities. Meanwhile, to order the necessary medication through "Ukrposhta," one must call the contact center at 0 800 300 545. Medications will be sent via express delivery free of charge.

The "Servant of the People" party notes that the range of medications in both cases is extensive: prescription, over-the-counter, and those available through the "Affordable Medicines" program with a small co-payment or even completely free of charge.

By the way, this year, as added by the political force, there has been the largest expansion of the "Affordable Medicines" program. The state allocated a record budget of 6.6 billion UAH for this purpose. Fifty new drugs have been added, and as a result, an additional 500,000 Ukrainians will be able to significantly reduce their treatment costs.
