The average prices for housing, water, electricity, gas, and other types of fuel in Ukraine in January 2025 increased by 19.1% compared to January of the previous year. The most significant rise was in electricity costs.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the State Statistics Service (Gosstat).
According to the statistical agency, the following rates have increased:
At the same time, the rates for natural gas, hot water, and heating have not changed.
It should be noted that there is a moratorium on the increase of tariffs for gas, hot water, and heating in Ukraine; however, this does not apply to electricity and cold water.
The National Bank expects that during 2025, the existing tariffs for gas, heating, and hot water supply will not be revised. Increases may occur starting in 2026.
From June 1, 2024, the electricity tariff for households in Ukraine rose by 63.6% from 2.64 UAH/kWh to 4.32 UAH/kWh.
Utility prices also increased in 2023. The average prices for housing, water, electricity, gas, and other types of fuel in Ukraine in January 2024 compared to January 2023 rose by 12.8%. This was due to the increase in electricity prices. The Cabinet of Ministers raised the tariff for electricity for households on June 1, 2023, by 70% from 1.68 UAH/kWh to 2.64 UAH/kWh.
