The commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces responded to the situation in the 155th Brigade.

The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, shared his thoughts on the situation concerning the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Anna Kyivska."

The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, shared his views on the situation surrounding the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Anna Kyivska."

As reported by RBK-Ukraine, he made this statement during a national telethon.

"A number of facts have taken place. I personally have a negative attitude towards all these manifestations and to what could have been corrected locally by all levels of management. This refers to all commanders and leaders," Drapaty stated.

According to him, the success of the personnel depends on the influence of the command. He noted that work is currently underway to improve the leadership.

"I am confident that what has been announced will eventually be disproved," he said.

Scandal with the 155th Brigade

Recently, statements regarding the improper formation and provision of the newly created 155th Mechanized Brigade circulated online. It was claimed that approximately 1,700 servicemen from the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade had left service. In particular, there were alleged instances of soldiers fleeing from training in France.

The State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) reported that they have initiated an investigation into articles concerning desertion and abuse of power by military personnel following the facts made public in the media.

Recently, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, instructed to reinforce the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna Kyivska. Additionally, he informed that law enforcement agencies are investigating cases of desertion and abuse of authority within the brigade.
