Under the procedural guidance of specialized prosecutors in the defense sector, the commander of one of the platoons of the 211th Pontoon Bridge Brigade has been informed of suspicions regarding the abuse of power by a military official, unauthorized departure from the military unit or place of service, as well as desertion, reports "Vydomo" citing the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, the suspect repeatedly used violence against at least three servicemen from February to May 2024 while stationed in the Eastern Ukraine operation zone.
In February 2024, while in Dnipropetrovsk region, he beat a soldier for being in a state of intoxication. The officer kicked him in the face and continued to strike him on other parts of the body. Subsequently, while in Donetsk region, the suspect assaulted this soldier again, ordering his subordinates to tie him to a wooden cross.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect also attacked another soldier in Dnipropetrovsk region due to a dispute over the publication of a video online depicting inadequate living conditions.
The investigation is ongoing, and all instances of violence against soldiers in the brigade are being established.
Since the suspect is evading the investigation, he has been placed on the wanted list. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the territorial offices of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
