In the new train schedule for 2024-2025, some trains of Ukrzaliznytsia have been designated as flagship services. Notably, this includes a train that will operate between Dnipro and Lviv. This was reported on Telegram by Ukrzaliznytsia, as conveyed by "Vidomo".
According to the carrier's press service, passengers will be able to see in the app which trains feature new and modernized carriages. Currently, Ukrzaliznytsia has five such trains:
№79/80 Dnipro – Lviv: "Sicheslav" is named after the historical renaming of Yekaterinoslav (present-day Dnipro) in 1918;
№15/16 Kharkiv – Yasinya: the "Les Kurbas" train is named after the prominent European theater figure born in Lviv region. His theater "Berezil" became a cultural hallmark of Kharkiv;
№17/18 Kharkiv – Uzhhorod: in 2022, the train was named "Skovoroda" in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda;
№91/92 Kyiv – Lviv: "Leopolis" – the most premium train, consisting entirely of new carriages produced during the war;
№105/106 Kyiv – Odesa: "Chornomorets" – the main train of the Odesa depot with a historic name.
"Now, even at the stage of choosing your journey in the app, you will know which trains have the best carriages. This does NOT mean they will be the most expensive. Meanwhile, we will have a list of priority routes to replenish with new and modernized carriages. This list will be expanded monthly!" – explained the company's press service.
How to identify a flagship train:
distinctive name and logo reflecting the train's history and route;
new or refurbished compartment and luxury carriages with vacuum toilets, air conditioning, power outlets, USB chargers, changing tables, compartment door alarms, and emergency buttons;
marking in the app;
updated game library and exclusive railway sugar cubes.
Musical accompaniment for the flagships:
"Sicheslav" – the track "Good evening, we are from Ukraine" by PROBASS & HARDI;
"Skovoroda" - the composition "Locomotive" by Yevhen Khmara;
"Leopolis" - "City of Spring" performed by "Odin v kanoe" and "Okean Elzy";
"Les Kurbas" - instrumental version of "Cheremshyna";
"Chornomorets" - melody "The Edge of the Black Sea" by Tabachnikov.
The ticket prices for "flagship" carriages are the same as those for similar class carriages.
