Toys and household items: what utility workers discover in the sewers of Dnipro.

In Dnipro, utility workers are addressing blockages in the sewage system and are complaining that residents are using it as a dumping ground. The most common causes of sewage blockages were discussed by the KP "Dniprovodokanal," as reported by "Vydomo."

"On average, the enterprise receives about 40-50 requests daily regarding blockages in the drainage system. We process the request within 24 hours. If there are damages in the drainage line, we carry out emergency work: we replace the damaged section or repair the inspection well. Since the beginning of the year, we have already processed 350 requests regarding sewage blockages," – said Vladyslav Pavlenko, the leading engineer-inspector of the repair control inspection at KP "Dniprovodokanal."

He also mentioned the most common reasons for these blockages — the disposal of food waste, household trash, personal hygiene items, toys, etc., into the sewage network.

"To avoid emergency situations, we strongly urge residents not to throw food scraps, solid household waste, wet wipes, and other hygiene products into the sewage system. Using the sewage system as a dump leads to blockages and emergency situations," – emphasized Vladyslav Pavlenko.
