Israel has yet to receive a list of the names of the hostages that Hamas is supposed to release. This may delay the implementation of the ceasefire deal in Gaza and the release of the hostages scheduled for tomorrow.
This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Times of Israel.
"We will not move forward with the plan until we receive the list of hostages to be released, as agreed. Israel will not tolerate any violations of the agreement. The sole responsibility lies with Hamas," the Prime Minister's office stated.
The agreement stipulates that Hamas is required to provide the names of the hostages no later than 24 hours before their release, which is set to take place tomorrow at 4:00 PM local time.
Recall that The Times of Israel, referencing Kan, reported that Israel was supposed to receive the names of the first three hostages to be released by today afternoon. According to preliminary information, the first three released hostages are expected to be civilian women, rather than the five female soldiers from the list of 33 hostages.
It is also worth noting that on Thursday in Doha, the negotiating parties signed an agreement for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the release of hostages. Today, January 18, the Israeli government approved the document, which is set to come into effect tomorrow.
