Dnipro, a city enduring tough times alongside the country, is once again facing the devastating consequences of Russian aggression. On December 25, 2024, yet another missile strike caused significant damage to the football training facility, marking it as the second victim of such attacks this year. This information was reported by "Vydamo" referencing "Sport Express".
The facility, which previously served as a home for the football clubs "Dnipro" and "Dnipro-1", has once again found itself at the center of events.
The first strike occurred in early April when a series of drone attacks inflicted serious damage. At that time, the buildings' structures, the artificial turf training field, and the indoor arena were affected. Recovery efforts, which required significant financial and time investments, had not yet been completed when the facility faced a new bombardment.
On December 25, both buildings of the facility lost a considerable number of window frames, turning the interior spaces into desolate areas exposed to cold and wind. The facade of the main building also suffered severe damage.
The destruction impacted not only the main buildings but also other structures on the facility's grounds, including critical infrastructure necessary for the training process of the football players.
The condition of the training field after the shelling is yet to be assessed, but considering the extent of the destruction, it can be assumed that the restoration will take a long time and require substantial efforts.
