The format of peace talks will depend on the plan to end the war, according to Zelensky.

It is currently too early to discuss specific formats for peace negotiations with Russia. The format will depend on what the plan for ending the Russian war against Ukraine will look like.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference with his Moldovan counterpart, Maia Sandu, according to a correspondent from RBK-Ukraine.

According to the president, excluding Ukraine from any negotiation platform is simply impossible, as such a platform would yield no real results, only political ones that would not relate to security or the end of the war.

"Secondly, I had good meetings with Trump (the President of the USA - ed.), and discussions, and I once again support what he wants to achieve. I am confident he has a good chance, and we should believe he will succeed. This can only be done with Ukraine," Zelensky stated, adding that there is no other way to do it.

At the same time, the president expressed understanding that contacts between the negotiating parties can take place in various formats.

"Formats depend on what the plan for ending the war will be. I am very serious about this; everyone wants success, the American side, the European side, everyone wants success, and success for all is peace. I think this is very important. The formats before any meeting should be documented. The format should outline how we can achieve a just peace," he noted.

Recall that this week, U.S. President Donald Trump made a strong appeal to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, urging him to come to the negotiating table to end the war against Ukraine. Otherwise, Trump stated he would take tough measures to compel Moscow to do so.

Putin, on his part, claimed that he is not against negotiations to end the war, but allegedly it is Ukraine that refuses to talk with Russia. The Office of the President of Ukraine explained this dictator's statement as a desire to hold negotiations to end the war without Ukraine's involvement.
