Yermak on the war's timeline: if it were up to Ukraine, everything would be resolved by tomorrow.

Ермак о сроках войны: если бы решение зависело от Украины, конфликт завершился бы завтра.

If the timelines for ending the war depended on Ukraine and the democratic world, it would all be over by tomorrow. However, victory must lead to a just peace.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak in an interview with Euronews in Davos.

He emphasized that Ukraine needs the support of the continent to end a war it never wanted. Yermak added that Ukrainians are victims of Russian aggression and, more than anyone else, desire to restore a just peace and conclude the war.

The head of the President's Office commented on U.S. President Donald Trump's statement during the pre-election debates when he refused to say whether he wanted Ukraine to win the war. He believes there is no need to overanalyze Trump's speech or search for any hidden meaning.

"Everyone understands: this war needs to be ended with a just peace. For our part, we have always said that victory means a just peace. That means there is no alternative for us," Yermak stated.

Regarding another promise from the U.S. President to end the war in one day, Yermak preferred not to mention any timelines.

"I think no one on this planet knows exactly when this war will end. If it depended on Ukraine and the entire democratic world, everything would be over by tomorrow," he emphasized.

The head of the President's Office added that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants war and his plan is to take control of Ukraine by force, destroying European values and its democratic order.

Trump's Statements on Ukraine

It is worth noting that ahead of the elections, Donald Trump claimed he could allegedly end the war in Ukraine in one day. Additionally, he asserted his intention to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump allegedly tasked special representative Keith Kellogg with ending the war in Ukraine within 100 days. However, even among the U.S. President's team, there are concerns that this will not happen.

President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that a quicker end to the war might force Ukraine to make concessions, which it will not take.

CNN reported that Trump instructed his aides to arrange a phone call with Putin and preparations are allegedly already underway. The day before, he also urged Putin to stop the war against Ukraine, threatening Russia with tariffs and sanctions.

More statements from Trump and his team after the inauguration can be found in the article by RBK-Ukraine.
