On the night of December 22, unidentified drones attacked the Oryol region of Russia. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the area.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Russian Telegram channels.
According to local residents, around 10-12 explosions were heard over Oryol during the night. They also reported seeing bright flashes on the outskirts of the city. Later, footage of the fire began circulating online, allegedly showing the blaze at the oil refinery.
Shortly thereafter, the governor of the Oryol region, Andrei Klychkov, confirmed that the Oryol region had been subjected to a drone attack. He added that a fire had occurred at a fuel infrastructure facility in the village of Stalnoy Kon, part of the Oryol municipal district.
"I urge everyone to remain calm; the attack is still ongoing. Currently, there is no information regarding casualties or injuries, and emergency services are already on site taking measures to mitigate the consequences of the fire," Klychkov stated.
It is worth noting that a week ago, on the night of December 14, drones also attacked an oil depot in the city of Oryol. Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the attack, stating that one of the largest oil product terminals in Russia had been targeted.
