Dnipro restorer of vintage motorcycles Ilya Myagkov accidentally discovered a rare moped at a scrap metal yard, which has not been produced for over fifty years. This was reported by "Vydomo" referencing gorod.dp.ua.

"The only bright spot of my vacation week, which I spent going through the VLK at the TCK, was acquiring a frame of the MV-044 in the Lviv region from a scrap metal yard (though from the first photos, I thought it was younger than the MP-045).

In just three days, the frame and three front wheels, shipped as one lot, arrived in Dnipro, and on Friday morning, before another visit to the doctors, the long-awaited parts began to take their places: the unsellable rear fender had been waiting since 2012, the D-5 engine since 2021, the headlight since 2019, the side stand since 2023, and the front fender since December 2024 were all anticipating their frame.

Another dream made from spare parts collected throughout Ukraine is becoming a real rare moped that ceased production in 1968," the man shares.

As is known, the motorcycle bicycle or light moped MV-044 was produced from 1966 to 1968 at the Lviv bicycle plant. The light moped MV-044 can reach a maximum speed of 40 km/h and consumes 2 liters of fuel per 100 km. Its dry weight is 38 kg.
