Notably, Biden has tried to avoid criticism regarding his Vice President Kamala Harris, whose campaign was unsuccessful due to her late entry into the presidential race. Several Democrats believe that by remaining in the race, Biden limited Harris's time to prepare and run her campaign, which may have impacted her results.
"Biden ran with the promise that he would be a transitional president and essentially serve one term before handing power to a new generation. I think his candidacy again disrupted that concept—the conceptual foundation of the theory that he would end Trump’s appeal, defeat Trumpism, and usher in a new era," noted Senator Richard Blumenthal.
