In 2024, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 13,000 artillery systems belonging to the occupiers. Currently, the Russians have lost their dominance in artillery on the front lines in Ukraine.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing Telegram from the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to him, one of the priority tasks of the defensive operation is the destruction of enemy artillery.
"In just 2024, 13,000 enemy artillery systems have been hit. This is more than the total for the previous two years of full-scale invasion," he stated.
Overall, Syrskyi noted that the occupiers have lost nearly 23,000 artillery units, along with 1,269 neutralized multiple rocket launchers.
"The effective counter-battery operations of Ukrainian artillery and the widespread use of drone units have essentially nullified the initial artillery dominance of the Russian invaders on the battlefield," the general added.
The Russian army is suffering significant losses in Ukraine. It was recently reported that Russia is forming assault groups from wounded soldiers who were prematurely sent back to the war.
As noted by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine's losses in the war are significantly lower than those of Russia. Specifically, the ratio of wounded soldiers is one to two. Previously, in assessing Russian losses, the president mentioned that losses in November and December 2024 became record-breaking.
