Russians launched an assault on the positions of the National Guard fighters using ATVs. The military halted the attackers' advance even before they reached the defenders' trenches.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegram from the commander of the National Guard, Alexander Pivnenko.
"A group of enemy assault troops planned to rush the Defense Forces' positions on ATVs. However, the bold raid was stopped even before they approached the defenders' trenches," he stated.
According to Pivnenko, after the destruction of the light vehicles, operators of the strike drones from the 12th Special Operations Brigade "Azov" began systematically eliminating enemy infantry that had dispersed across the area.
"The result - light vehicles were destroyed, along with many enemy '200s' and '300s'," the general confirmed.
The situation at the front in Ukraine remains challenging. The highest number of attacks by Russian troops has been concentrated in the Pokrovsk direction. On January 3, there were 40 out of 148 Russian assaults in just one day.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are repelling attempts by the invaders to advance in Pokrovsk. In particular, despite the Russians trying to bypass Pokrovsk, there are no battles occurring in the city.
The situation remains equally difficult in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Toretsk. There, the occupiers have been destroying the positions of the Defense Forces for several consecutive days. At the same time, as of early December, Ukrainian defenders have "cleared" one of the neighborhoods in Chasiv Yar.
