In Kyiv, during the night of January 8, after the announcement of an air alert, the air defense system was activated. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from the enemy were detected moving towards the capital.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachенко.
The official mentioned that the air attack was repelled in the capital around 1:30 AM.
He also urged the city's residents to stay in shelters until the air alert was lifted due to the enemy drones.
"Air defense is operational in Kyiv! Stay in safe places!" - the head of the KGVU stated in a publication on Telegram.
Prior to this, the Air Forces had informed about the movement of enemy UAVs towards the capital.
At 2:00 AM, the Kyiv City Military Administration announced that the threat of an air attack for the capital had been lifted.
We remind you that about an hour ago, reports indicated air defense activity in the Kyiv region as well. This was due to the presence of enemy strike drones detected in the airspace of the region.
As previously reported, on the evening of January 7, Russian occupiers launched strike drones, specifically of the "Shahed" type, towards Ukraine. Due to the threat posed by kamikaze drones, air alerts were declared in several regions.
