"В воздухе, на море и в энергетике". Макрон предлагает Украине месячное перемирие.

The French President Emmanuel Macron is preparing a joint plan with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine. In particular, he proposes a ceasefire for Ukraine lasting one month.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Le Figaro.

According to the publication, Macron is primarily trying to outline European initiatives in the process of achieving peace in Ukraine. He wants Europe to avoid being overshadowed by a new agreement between Washington and Moscow.

"Emmanuel Macron does not believe in a ceasefire agreement made between the Americans and the Russians, convinced that Vladimir Putin will primarily seek to humiliate Ukraine, particularly through its demilitarization," Le Figaro writes.

Therefore, Macron and Starmer have developed a Franco-British plan for Ukraine. As an alternative, they proposed a "ceasefire in the air, at sea, and in energy infrastructure" for one month.

According to the President, this plan has the advantage of allowing for monitoring the adherence to the ceasefire.

"It must be understood that the front today is equivalent to the Paris-Budapest line. In the case of a general ceasefire, it would be very difficult to verify whether the ceasefire is being respected along the entire front line," Macron emphasized.

Ceasefire between Ukraine and the RF

Let us remind you that today the press service of President Vladimir Zelensky explained that the foundation for a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and the Russian Federation must necessarily include strong security guarantees.

"There is a clear position that the foundation for a potential ceasefire must include strong security guarantees. In particular, they are considering the possibility of involving mechanisms of the North Atlantic Treaty as one of the security guarantees and strengthening the Ukrainian army," the statement said.

At the same time, the president's press service noted that the start of a ceasefire should begin with the exchange of prisoners and the return of children.

Additionally, recently U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he and Starmer discussed the issue of a ceasefire in Ukraine during talks at the White House and expressed hope that there would be a ceasefire in Ukraine, "the war will stop, and this will happen very quickly."
