In Kyiv, during the night of February 21, air defense forces and resources continue to operate due to a Russian attack involving strike drones. Several enemy targets have been detected over the capital.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
The administration informed about the combat operations of the capital's defenders around 12:30 AM.
"The threat from strike UAVs persists. Air defense forces are active in the capital," the KCMA stated in a Telegram channel announcement.
Residents of Kyiv have been urged to stay in shelters until the air raid alert is lifted. They were also asked to adhere to all safety regulations.
It is worth noting that local social media reported explosions heard in the capital during the drone attack.
Additionally, the Air Forces reported at 12:14 AM that several enemy strike UAVs had been spotted within the capital. Prior to that, movements of Russian drones towards Kyiv were detected through Brovary.
At 2:23 AM, the KCMA announced the lifting of the air raid alert in the capital.
The administration also requested that Kyiv residents closely monitor updates, and in case of an alert, return to shelters.
Earlier, it was reported that around ten o'clock the previous evening, city authorities informed about the operation of air defense systems in Kyiv. This was due to an enemy attack using kamikaze drones.
The mayor stated that several enemy UAVs were entering the city. Explosions were also heard in Kyiv against the backdrop of the drone attack.
Information about air defense operations in the Kyiv region concerning "Shaheds" was also reported by KOVA.
Furthermore, on Thursday evening, the Air Forces detected the launch of several groups of strike drones by Russian occupiers towards Ukraine for another air attack. An air raid alert was declared in many regions due to the "Shaheds".
