On the night of January 11, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv. The reason for this was enemy drones detected in the Kyiv region, which were located close to the city.
This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegram of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The air raid alert in Kyiv sounded at 01:05. Less than 20 minutes earlier, military officials had recorded a strike UAV heading southwest in the northern part of the Kyiv region.
Just 5 minutes after the alert, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), Timur Tkachenko, confirmed that enemy UAVs were present in the airspace around Kyiv. This indicated that it was not just one drone.
The air raid alert in Kyiv has been lifted.
As of 01:14, the air raid alert continued in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions.
Recall that last night in Kyiv, the alert was declared twice. Air defense forces were active in the capital and shot down enemy UAVs.
It soon became known that debris from a UAV hit a high-rise building. According to the KCMA, there were no casualties; however, windows were shattered in the building, and six cars were damaged in the courtyard.
In the morning, the State Emergency Service showed photos of the aftermath of the attacks. They clarified that the drone struck the technical floor of a 16-story building, but a fire was avoided.
